A certification demonstrates your dedication, motivation and clinical knowledge in myofunctional therapy and sciences. Once you earn your certification, you join a select group of clinicians with demonstrated skills.

To apply for certification, you will need to complete the following steps: 

• Eligibility Status Submission 
• 100 Question Exam (80% is required to pass)
• Case Study Submission (2 total)
• Mentorship and Observation Hours Submission

Eligibility is unique to students of the AOMT, who have completed the Introduction to Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy course.  Applicants must have a license in an allied health field which is in good standing. The following are a list of approved health disciplines that are eligible for certification:

• Speech Language Pathology
• Registered Dental Hygienist
• Occupational Therapy
• Physical Therapy
• Registered Nurse
• Dental Provider (D.D.S. / D.M.D.)
• Medical Doctor
• Chiropractic
• Otolaryngology
• Others

Once you receive your eligibility approval, you will find your application inside your AOMT Course Library. All the steps of the application will be inside this portal. Applications take 4-6 weeks to process. 

In order to maintain your certification status, you must submit 30 hours of continuing education in areas related to myofunctional therapy & sciences every three years.
